- The alt.chi paper “For God’s sake! Considering Religious Beliefs in HCI Research: A Case of Islamic HCI” got accepted to CHI 2021.
- Very happy that the co-authored paper “We Even Borrowed Money From Our Neighbor”: Understanding Mobile-based Fraud Through Victims’ Experiences got accepted to CSCW 2021. The work was led by Lubna Razaq at the ITU Fintech center.
- Excited that our CHI 2021 Workshop proposal “From the Margins to the Centre: Defining New Mission and Vision for HCI Researchers in South Asia” got accepted.
- Honored and humbled to receive the American Association of University Women – International Fellowship for 2020-21.
- Proud to have given a talk at the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering Colloquia about my work on “Designing for User’s Realities” along with other members of the ICTD Lab.
- Excited to be part of the Global Innovation Exchange (GIX) Launch Projects for another year! The launch teams are working on real-world high-impact projects with Microsoft, TMobile, Vulcan, Port of Seattle, among many others.
- Represented Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering at the Grace Hopper Conference GHC 2020 and Richard Tapia Diversity of Computing Conference 2020.
